Clusters and competitiveness clusters

Alpha RLH

Alpha RLH is the Photonics and Microwaves Competitiveness Cluster in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It gathers 253 members and is working with companies and laboratories in setting-up, evaluating and funding innovative projects. The cluster addresses focal areas of the Factory of the Future such as the role of humans in factories, cobots, virtual reality or digitalization.

Aerospace Valley

Aerospace Valley is the biggest European competitiveness cluster dedicated to aeronautics, space and embedded systems gathering more than 840 members from industry and research including amongst others 500 SMEs as well as large corporate groups and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the major aerospace research establishments, engineering schools and local authorities. The purpose of Aerospace Valley is to leverage the competitiveness and visibility of its members, both on the national and international scene. The core expertise of Aerospace Valley is based on three services: networking, R&D and innovation, and companies business and resources development.

EIT Manufacturing WEST

EIT Manufacturing is a knowledge and innovation community made up of 50 European partners from 17 European countries. The main objective of this community is to promote innovation for the benefit of sustainable and globally competitive production in Europe. To this end, the EIT Manufacturing finances innovation projects (TRL 5-9) and offers various support programs to companies for the creation, acceleration, transformation of production activities, to train, improve and requalify the manpower in the manufacturing industry (Masters / Doctorate programs, Teaching and Learning factories, Guided Learning Factory).

Technological transfer centers

CATIE

Technology transfer center specializing in digital technology which supports SMEs and mid-cap companies in their digital transformation and helps them adopt and integrate digital technologies (AI, Intelligent Systems, Robotics and Human-centered Systems). With a team of 40 employees (mainly doctors and engineers), CATIE is closely linked to local university research centers with which it collaborates on transfer programs. In addition, CATIE works with regional companies, experts in digital technologies and participates in European projects.

CEA Tech

CEA Tech is the French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energy Commission technology research unit. This collaborative robotics platform is thus the meeting point between the CEA and its industrial partners for joint research and development on systems like cobots and exoskeletons which aims at making manual tasks easier, improving operator precision, and increasing productivity. The systems developed are either stationary, mobile, or remotely-operated for use in hostile environments.

CETIM

The Technical Center for Mechanical Industry was established in France in 1965 in order to improve companies’ competitiveness through mechanical engineering, transfer of innovations and advanced manufacturing solutions. It is a founding member of the Alliance Industry of the Future.

TECNALIA FRANCE

Tecnalia France is located in New Aquitaine as part of a collaboration with the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region, the objective of which is to strengthen the capacity for innovation, development and transfer of technologies already existing in the territory at the service of regional businesses. Tecnalia France is now positioned in the sectors of health, renewable energies, cybersecurity and the industry of the future. In this field, Tecnalia combines a strong knowledge of the industrial and production world with recognized expertise in digital transformation technologies, such as agile, mobile or adaptive robotics adapted to the factory, intelligent systems, perception of the environment, Big Data and data analysis, the development of new services based on digitization, cybersecurity and industrial communication.

Bordeaux INP

Bordeaux INP is an institute for research and higher education composed of 8 graduate schools of engineering (ENSC, ENSCBP, ENSEGID, ENSEIRB-MATMECA, ENSTBB, ENSGTI, ENSI Poitiers, ISABTP) and supervising 11 research laboratories, covering among others ICT, transport, materials of the future, energy, etc. Bordeaux INP is part of National polytechnic institute group together with Grenoble, Toulouse and Lorraine.

ESTIA

A subsidiary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bayonne Pays Basque, in the Basque Country, ESTIA has been providing education and training in the fields of industrial technologies for 20 years. CAPTRONIC

The JESSICA France association was created at the initiative of Bpifrance and CEA, with the support of the DGE. Research organizations

Inria

Onera

ONERA is the French research center for the Aeronautics, Space and Defense (ASD) sector. ONERA, which employs a little less than 2,000 people nationally, the majority of whom are researchers and engineers. ONERA is developing work with high digital content in five major scientific fields: Advanced Numerical Simulation and Information and Systems Processing, Fluid Mechanics and Energetics, Materials and Processes, Physics (optronics, radar, natural environment).
